Putting together IM Naloxone Kits

By the end of this module you will be able to

  • Have a good understanding of overdose prevention and what you can do to help.

  • Put together Naloxone kits that will be utilized for outreach.

What is included in the Naloxone Kit

  • 2 Needles/ Syringes (do not need to be separated, but is okay if they are)

  • 2 vials on IM Naloxone

  • 1 casing with Georiga Overdose Prevention Information

Making Bags of Naloxone Kits for Outreach

It is beneficial to save plastic grocery bags to put multiple kits of Naloxone in (usually IM and Intranasal), along with informational material for people with friends and family at high risk.

Talking about it

Meet people where they are. Keep it practical and free of judgment: how to spot an overdose, how to use the kit, and the promise that calling 911 will not get them arrested for helping. Trust is what gets a kit carried and used.
